Frequently asked questions

Can I earn CE hours for the course?

These programs meet the requirements for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and are approved for CE credits. Completion of any of these programs does not ensure or guarantee AASECT Certification. For further information please contact ce@aasect.org.

The Institute for Sex Positive Therapy has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7251. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Institute for Sex Positive Therapy is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Are recordings available if I can't attend live?

We will eventually offer recorded courses asynchronously but at this time, only synchronous options are available.

What if I am not happy?

We absolutely want you to feel that you have left our courses feeling you've gained more knowledge and confidence. If you do not feel satisfied, please reach out to one of the instructors and we will be happy to help address your concerns. Per our CE approval boards, if we do not resolve the matter to your satisfaction:
1. The person with a grievance will first try to informally resolve their grievance by contacting the Event Facilitators Julie Labanz and Matthew Lachman, with the issue concerning the training, its delivery, the evaluation method, or technological issue.
2. If the aggrieved person is not satisfied with the resolution through informal means, the aggrieved person shall put their grievance in writing to Julie Labanz and Matthew Lachman.
3. Matthew Lachman and Julie Labanz will then consult with appropriate personnel at the organization that have approved the course to find fair methods of resolving the grievance.
4. If the aggrieved person is not satisfied with the solutions put forth, then they will be directed to put their grievance in writing and contact the appropriate organization, e.g. AASECT or state in which training has been provided. The appropriate AASECT personnel can be reached at ce@aasect.org
5. The AASECT CE Provider, Julie Labanz and other Event Facilitator, Matthew Lachman, will abide by any decisions regarding resolution of the grievance.
Additionally, if you determine the course is not as described or does not fit your needs in any way, please contact us for either course credit or refund. All requests for a refund must be made in writing and can be emailed to info@sexpositivetherapy.org

Do you offer supervision?

Yes! Matt and Julie are both offering supervision both for AASECT Certification as well as general licensure. Matt is an LPCC-S in the state of Ohio and Julie is an LPCC-S in Ohio and an LPC-S in Kentucky.

Will you offer more trainings?

Yes! We are currently working on building a curriculum that will help educate providers as well as therapists looking for CE hours.
